A Little Over A Week....

I will be married for a year! I can't believe it. If you would have asked me what my life would be like when I was a teenager I would have never guessed this. I always thought that I would get married after college, or maybe never. I honestly thought that maybe marriage was not in the plans for me. That just goes to show how much I know. Now here I am married for almost a year and graduating in December.  Life has worked out in a way I never imagined, but I would not change anything. I am very grateful for all the things life has taught me.

We already bought Orion his anniversary present. Orion's parents invited us to go to Disney Land with them and the high school his mom works for, but we decided against that. We wanted to do something for our anniversary by ourselves. So Orion got an XBOX 360 and some games. He has never been so happy. Last week he worked 60 hours so he could get a 200 dollar bonus and we used that money to buy his present. He has been working so hard lately he deserved a really nice present. My present is going to come on our actual anniversary and I can't wait.

The Shoe

So Orion and I have lived in our new apartment in SLO for over a week now. It's a shoe compared to our old place. I am not even kidding. Although it is smaller we are saving a good amount of money. Rent is cheaper by $100 and we will save probably that much on gas because Orion only has to drive five minutes to work instead of thirty. The downside we no longer have a dishwasher or washer/dryer in our apartment :( Oh well. I work one day a week watching super cute little boys and I plan on doing my laundry at my mom's after I watch them. She told me I could before I even thought to ask. She is a great mom! Plus paying for laundry is expensive! I did it this past weekend and spent $1.50 per wash for three loads and $.75 per load drying. Except one dryer charged me a buck to dry. So they brings my total to $7 when I normally spent $13 a month on electric for my entire apartment (our dryer was electric and our water was payed for by our land lord). Me being the cheap skate that I am will do my laundry at my mom's as much as I can.

:)

The other day I decided to make some banana bread. I just love it and it is pretty easy to make. I am not the best cook in the world, but I would consider myself a pretty good baker. If ever asked to bring something to a party/gathering I would pick baking something over cooking something. I just enjoy baking much more than cooking. Orion can attest to that because I have him cook dinner whenever I can. While making the banana bread I decided that peanut butter would be a wonderful addition, which it was. Once I added that I felt like I needed to add something else and what is better than chocolate chips? Nothing I tell you. I was so happy when I was making the bread from scratch that I decided it needed a smile too.

I was sad when Orion got home and ate part of the face. I tried to make him eat around it so the smile would last as long as possible, but he did not listen.
