First birthday

My little lady is not so little anymore. She is one! I can't believe it. For her birthday we made her a raspberry cheesecake with strawberries on top. We love cheesecake in this family. Adilyn just loved her cheesecake.

 We could not find our candles so we ended up putting a strawberry on top instead. She loves strawberries so very much.

 She was confused by all of us standing around her singing. Owen was clapping and she just did not understand what was happening.

 As soon as we stopped singing she dug in.

 She was more interested in the strawberry on top then the cheesecake.

 Once the strawberry was demolished (she ate a couple during dinner as well)

 She was so excited to eat her cake.

This photo is just so cute! She started her birthday off super grouchy and wanted to be held all day long. Thank you teething. I was worried she would not be up to having a a family party. Good thing we have baby Tylenol and she enjoys taking it. We made sure to give her some before her party and she did pretty good. One of her molars is coming in and it has been such a pain to her. Thankfully it has popped through and she is a much happier baby.

Baby Danielle

My sister-in-law had a baby just a couple of days ago. Her babies are always huge. Little baby Danielle came out the same size that Adilyn is right now. Ok maybe not 21 pounds but that baby looks huge.

Here is baby Danielle only a couple hours old and Adilyn almost a year. I swear they are almost the same size. For the record sweet Danielle came out 9 pounds 14 ounces, basically TEN POUNDS! Yikes what a big baby. I can't wait to spend more time with her. Adilyn was very jealous when I held that little bundle of joy. I guess another baby is not going happen anytime soon if Adilyn has anything to say about it. We are so happy that baby and momma are doing good. Welcome to our family baby Danielle we love you already!

We love the beach

 Clearly Adilyn loves the beach a little bit more than we do. She has to eat sand every time we go.

 Then she wants to dumb my phone in the hole we dug for her. What a sweet lady she is....

 Daddy decided it would be funny to put her in a hole she can't get out off.

Turns out she is one resourceful lady. She just used our legs to pull herself out.

Burried

Orion likes to bury Adilyn in clothes, pillows, blankets, you name it. Lucky for him Adilyn thinks it is fun.

Here she is helping dad fold laundry, which means playing around while I attempt to fold laundry.

Orion decided that Adilyn needed all of her stuffed animals and her blanket.

Then she found her bear hat. Of how I love that hat! It is so cute! I just love it so much. Best two dollars I have ever spent. Most of the time she rips it off right after we put it on her, but sometimes she keeps it on for thirty seconds.

Sleepy

I asked Orion to watch Adilyn while I went upstairs. I had to take a shower. He said sure. When I come down stairs I find him sleeping and Adilyn running around.

He turned his back on her and let her make a mess. You can't really tell in the picture but there are Cheerios all over the floor. She also got into the laundry.

I was upstairs for ten minutes and this is what I came back to. I was surprised that Orion fell asleep while Adilyn was making such a mess. When I woke him up he was surprised that I was already down with my shower. Apparently as soon as I walked up stairs he fell asleep. I don't know how you do that, but Orion falls asleep quickly all the time. Since he slept while Adilyn was racking havoc I made him clean up the downstairs. So I guess I won in the end. :)

Daddy's Girl

Adilyn loves her dad, sometimes more than she loves me. :( I tell Orion all the time that Adilyn loves me the best (Hello middle of the night feedings. That was me for all of those months. She better love me.) But to be honest if I had to be second to anyone (which I am not admitting I am) Orion is a good choice.

She just walked over to him and sat in his lap with her lady bug. She never does that to me! It's ok because I like to snuggle him too.

Normally when I change her diaper she is crying and acting like she is dying. She does that with Orion too, but sometimes she lays down calming for him. That little booger! She totally favors her daddy. Good thing she is so cute.

Typical Adilyn had to come investigate what I was doing. Here she is trying to say hi to me. So far she only knows how to wave and babble hello. She does however say bye bye. Sometimes she tells me bye bye when she is done playing with and walks away. At least she is polite....

Always happy to snuggle up with her daddy. They pretty much have the same amount of hair. ha ha. These two are my favorite people in the world. I just love them a lot. I marvel all the time about how lucky I am to have such a great husband and sweet daughter (even if they like each other more than me sometimes)

4 Months

We lived with Orion's parents for FOUR MONTHS! It was a long four months. But everyone survived. Adilyn did not sleep well there at all. I am not really sure why. She never took very long naps and woke up multiple times in the night. As soon as we moved out her naps got longer and she started sleeping through the night again. Thank goodness for that! Most of our stuff was in storage so any pictures I took were on my phone. So none of them are good quality, but they are better than nothing.

I found her sleeping like this on many occasions. What a little weirdo, but whatever makes her happy.

A rare occasion when Adilyn sleeps in our bed. Turns out she sleeps like her dad.

Just being her cute self.

Her first trip to the lake. She was not happy to wear her hat. She kept trying to rip off. The hat does not have anything to hold it on so I found a mini bungee cord and hooked in either side of her hat. It kept the hat on and it did not hurt her. Once the hat was fastened on her she stopped trying to rip it off.

She has a love for blankets. These are the ones she sleeps with and mostly stay in her bed. If she gets the chance she will go into her room and bring them out with her. If we let her she would bring a blanket with her everywhere, but we don't really want her to be the kid that needs a blanket. So she is content to bring them out only once in a while.

Her first hair bow. She finally has enough hair that a bow will stay in.
