Daddy's Girl

Adilyn loves her dad, sometimes more than she loves me. :( I tell Orion all the time that Adilyn loves me the best (Hello middle of the night feedings. That was me for all of those months. She better love me.) But to be honest if I had to be second to anyone (which I am not admitting I am) Orion is a good choice.

She just walked over to him and sat in his lap with her lady bug. She never does that to me! It's ok because I like to snuggle him too.

Normally when I change her diaper she is crying and acting like she is dying. She does that with Orion too, but sometimes she lays down calming for him. That little booger! She totally favors her daddy. Good thing she is so cute.
Typical Adilyn had to come investigate what I was doing. Here she is trying to say hi to me. So far she only knows how to wave and babble hello. She does however say bye bye. Sometimes she tells me bye bye when she is done playing with and walks away. At least she is polite....

Always happy to snuggle up with her daddy. They pretty much have the same amount of hair. ha ha. These two are my favorite people in the world. I just love them a lot. I marvel all the time about how lucky I am to have such a great husband and sweet daughter (even if they like each other more than me sometimes)

4 Months

We lived with Orion's parents for FOUR MONTHS! It was a long four months. But everyone survived. Adilyn did not sleep well there at all. I am not really sure why. She never took very long naps and woke up multiple times in the night. As soon as we moved out her naps got longer and she started sleeping through the night again. Thank goodness for that! Most of our stuff was in storage so any pictures I took were on my phone. So none of them are good quality, but they are better than nothing.
Visiting with her Great Grandma.

She was not a fan of helping pull weeds.
She would much rather pull the grapes leaves along.
After she fell into the bed frame at Nana and Papa's. Poor kid.
I found her sleeping like this on many occasions. What a little weirdo, but whatever makes her happy.

Adilyn loves to "help" with the laundry
A rare occasion when Adilyn sleeps in our bed. Turns out she sleeps like her dad.

Just being her cute self.
Her first trip to the lake. She was not happy to wear her hat. She kept trying to rip off. The hat does not have anything to hold it on so I found a mini bungee cord and hooked in either side of her hat. It kept the hat on and it did not hurt her. Once the hat was fastened on her she stopped trying to rip it off.
She has a love for blankets. These are the ones she sleeps with and mostly stay in her bed. If she gets the chance she will go into her room and bring them out with her. If we let her she would bring a blanket with her everywhere, but we don't really want her to be the kid that needs a blanket. So she is content to bring them out only once in a while.
Her first hair bow. She finally has enough hair that a bow will stay in.

My Little Monster

In two months this little lady will be one! I can't believe it. I am just so amazed by her every day. Being a mom is tough sometimes, but always worth it. After long days I am so happy for bed time, but then an hour or so passes and I start to miss my little monster. Her smile and laugh just warm my heart. A week or so ago Adilyn and I went on vacation to St. George, our first one with just the girls! It was not easy, she hates sleeping in her pack n play, but it was nice to spend lots of one on one time with her. I even let her sleep in the king size bed with me in the wee hours of the morning. I think that was her favorite part of the trip. She loved snuggling up to me when I was too tired to put her back in her bed. I think she was a little bit sad when Orion came to pick us up because she knew she had to sleep in her own bed all night.

Sweet Memories

I think my favorite time of day is bath time. Adilyn agrees. She is my little fish. Most nights I give her a bath because Orion is off working. But the nights he is off it is daddy daughter time. Adilyn just loves it when he daddy gives her a bath.
She loves to play with her daddy. I have to be in another room or else she tries to crawl out of the bathtub. She can't handle both of us in there at the same time I guess. So I peak in at them playing together. It just makes me so happy.
Here is our sweet lady with a cape on. She just loves to play with her rubber ducks. If you take them away from her before she is done be prepared for a temper tantrum. Yep she is only 9 months old and already throws a fit if you take things away from her.  Boy are we in trouble.

My entire life revolves around this little lady and to be honest I would not want it any other way. She makes life so much more interesting and tiring, but most interesting.
Her favorite game is to splash water on herself from her sippy cup.
She missed her daddy so she put his beanie on.

This picture is just so cute. I am not sure why I love it so much. I guess it is because she looks so serious about examining her block.
Everything goes into her mouth. EVERYTHING! She is always pleasantly surprised when what she is putting in her mouth turns out to be food. This is an amazing fruit holder that she is in love with. I also love it because I can put chunks of fruit in there and let her go to town with it. She feels like a big girl and I don't have to feed/watch her and I don't have to worry about her choking.

My mom told me that she has a picture very similar to this one of me as a baby. My little lady and I could be twins apparently.
This is how she carries her toys around when she is crawling or climbing.
This is her way of helping me with the laundry. I got tired of her trying to climb into the dryer so I put her in the basket. Now she always wants to be in the basket.
Oh don't mind me I am just driving. Daddy lets me do whatever I want. (Don't worry we are parked)
Even covered in sweet potatoes she is still adorable.

Phone Pictures

Our camera is currently packed up so all the pictures we take of Adilyn is done on our phones. So they are not the best quality, but it is better than nothing.

I got her a bear hat from Old Navy for two bucks. She loved it and I loved buying it for such a sweet deal. She was teething when these pictures were taken so she is covered in drool. Even though she was being whiny she was happy to smile for the camera. She sure is a little diva and I love her for it.
She just loves standing up and while walk around things. Well she will take a couple of steps along the couch. I can't believe how fast she is growing. My little lady is not so little anymore. :(
She loves to steal my food. If I am eating something then she wants to eat it too. She literally crawled into my lap and took this piece of bread from my hand. Then she proceed to eat it. Good thing she is so cute.
Here she is pretending to be the future pope. She does not know that she is the wrong religion and sex to become pope. I am not one to crush her dreams. I have so many pictures of her on my phone. I just can't help but take her sweet pictures.

3 Years

Three years ago I was sitting in a hotel room with my best friend from college. It was the night before my wedding. I sat there talking to her pretending that I was not nervous. It was not until the next day right before the ceremony that my nerves really kicked in. I remember eating dinner, that we got from Burger King because the hotel restaurant was closed along with every other place near by, and thinking about how tomorrow was going to be life changing. I was about to marry my all time best friend forever. It was going to be me and him forever. I thought it was only fitting that I was having dinner with my other best friend.
Look at us in college. It seems like a life time ago.

Tonight I spent the evening with one of my new best friends Adilyn. She my be only 8 months old, but I consider her on of my best friends. She is a great listener, she never interrupts me when I am talking. She always knows how to cheer me up. I just can't stay down when she gives me her gummy smile. (She has four teeth now so her smile is not as gummy anymore :( I just can't help to think about how much has changed in the past three years. I never thought that I would have Adilyn. I of course planned on being a mom, but it was always something that would happen in the future. Yet here I am in the future with a loving husband and daughter.

Tomorrow Orion and I will write a letter to each other. We do it every anniversary. As a wedding gift someone made us an anniversary book. It is just a notebook with a sweet cover on it. It has pictures of Orion and I when we were dating, engagement pictures, and the Temple we were sealed in. Inside it reminds us to write down how much we love each other and how much we mean to each other. It is such a good way to celebrate our love every year. This year will be a little different because we have our little lady so we won't really be doing anything big. Just writing letters and going to dinner after Adilyn falls asleep.
