Being sick and pregnant is the worst! I hate it so much. I am much lazier than normal. Being pregnant takes a lot of you, if you did not know. Plus I am super hot all the time. I feel like I am losing my mind. I just want to curl up in bed and watch TV while drinking a smoothie. Although being my pregnant clumsy self I would probably spill. After the initial upset I am pretty sure it would be a really funny site. Me trying to roll out of bed to clean up the mess. hahaha.

Nickels

Last week we went to a nickel arcade! It was so much fun and inexpensive. We paid $1.95 each to get in and then we went crazy with nickels. Well I went crazy with nickels, Orion sat at the same machine with two of his brothers for two hours. I ran around like a little kid winning tickets. It was so much fun. Every so often I would shove my tickets in Orion's face to show him how much I had won. For some reason he did not like it.

Before we left to go to the arcade Orion's dad gave me a roll of quarters and told me to have fun. I did not even go through all of the money he gave me before I got bored and hungry. There is only so much walking around winning tickets a pregnant girl can take. Orion and his brothers could have played their game for at least another hour if it were not for me. It was only after I said I was hungry that they realized they were hungry too. Silly boys!

After two years of marriage we finally are starting to decorate our space. Up until this point it has not really been a priority because we had things like groceries to buy and bills to pay. Those things for some reason seemed more important than having curtains to dress up our room. Strange how that worked out. Well we still have those priorities but curtains finally joined our home.
They are not super fancy or anything, but I like them. I think their color is great!
We finally caved and bought them so Orion could sleep on the days he works over time. The blinds simply were not keeping enough light out in the morning. If he works a 16 hour shift he needs all the rest he can get before he goes in again that afternoon. Instead of sleeping 3 hours he sleeps at least 5!

They are not black out curtains, but they do a great job. So good in fact that we have been getting almost 10 hours of sleep a night since we put them up! Granted we have been sick so the extra rest was needed, but still it stays nice and dark in our room now. I love them. Orion thinks we should only pull them closed on the mornings he does get to go to sleep till 7am so we don't sleep in so much. He takes away all of my fun. Can't a pregnant lady get 10+ hours of sleep a day???

Good News!

Our baby is still a girl. That is good news if you ask me, but not such great news if you ask Orion. It means he has to start calling it a girl instead of an it or he. To be honest I think he is excited to have a girl because she will be cute just like me! (Not that I am full of myself or anything, but Orion thinks I am really cute so a little version of me must be even cuter) That poor man has no idea what he is in store for.

He grew up with four brothers and zero sisters so he has no idea how to deal with girls. Lucky for him I am a lady so I am a little easier to deal with than a baby girl. At least that is what I tell myself. We will see what he thinks after the baby comes.

We are pre registered for the hospital, have a pediatrician picked out, and our working on putting together a nursery. Currently we have a crib (that is missing the screws, we will find them or replace them soon), a crib mattress, dresser, and zero clothes or diapers. At least we have a place to put things eventually....

This morning I woke up with a sore throat and an ear ache. I told Orion this when he tried to wake me up to get ready for church. I then went back to sleep. What does he do? He goes back to sleep as well. When we finally wake up (an hour and a half later) he makes me a smoothie for breakfast. I knew I liked him for a reason. I asked him if he was feeling sick to.

"Nope. I had to stay home to take care of you. You are my wife who is pregnant and not feeling well, I could not leave you here by yourself."

I saw through his cunning words. "You just wanted to sleep in more this morning."

"I love you," was all he had to say.

Finally Finished

Orion and I started working on a dresser for the babies room months ago. Well it seems like it was a decade ago, but who is counting. I thought it would be a job that mostly Orion would do, but I was wrong. We kept the dresser at his parents house because they have a garage and tools, while all we have is a little patio. Every time we went over to work on the dresser, someone would get distracted by projects his dad was working on. Leaving me to do a lot of sanding and painting. If you ask Orion he will tell you that he did most of the work.
He make the holes for the screws bigger and sand areas that I already painted because he forgot to put wood putty in some holes. He did help sand the ugly yellow color off the dresser in the beginning and did help paint, but I would say that I did most of the work. I guess the truth is somewhere in between our two stories. I really like how the dresser turned out. Now all I have to do is make sure the drawers are cleaned out and lined before we start putting baby stuff in it.

Baby Things

I finished the quilt I started a little while back. I actually finished it a couple of days ago, but have been too lazy to take a picture of it. I would have finished it even earlier had I really tried. It was a project that I worked on while Orion was at work and I had nothing else to do.
The picture shows the front and back of the quilt. I was surprised at how easy it was to put together. I thought it was going to be some what difficult. It was the first project I had ever done all on my own. Well I had a friend help me pick out the fabric and tell me what size to cut things. But other than that it was all me. I have to say that I am proud of this little blanket. I hope my baby likes it as well.

With my completed quilt it brings my total of baby things to...... 3! I have some wipes, a little onesie (how ever you spell that word), and this quilt. Before today I thought I was doing pretty good considering the baby is not due for at least two months. Then I got a call from my sister-in-law asking how much baby stuff I had. It got me thinking that maybe I should start collecting baby things already. Before I know it the baby will be here and I want to be prepared. So over the next couple of months my count of baby things should increase dramatically. At least that is my goal. We shall see how that works out.

Sometimes being an alumni has its perks. My school, well my former school, has a program set up to send each student a little gift when they have a child. I filled out a little form and told them I was expecting and not long later I got this in the mail! A cute little body suit for my baby! I was so excited when I got it I held it up to my belly and asked Orion what he thought of it. He laughed and said it looked great. Then he said our baby won't be able to wear it though when it comes out being a boy. I finally got him to agree that after our next ultra sound, in a couple weeks, when they say it is a girl (again) that he will admit defeat. He will then actually try to help pick out a name and start referring to our child as a she.

Cambria Pines Lodge

Like I have said before I am in love with this place. I am so glad we went there on our honeymoon. It is really romantic and fun. Of course this time we went we spent more time out and about. I wonder why that is.... ;) We toured the gardens, walked around the grounds, hung out in the lodge before dinner. I was such a good trip. In fact we thought about how next time we would make it a two night trip so we had plenty of time to do everything.
This was our roll of toilet paper. Whoever thought up to make a flower out of toilet paper had a lot of time on their hands. I thought it was so interesting that I took the roll of the dispenser so I could take a better picture. Orion of course just laughed at me.
Then they made a flower out of our tissues! I had a hard time trying to get just one tissue out later that night.

Our room had a fire place and a cute little outside patio. I of course forgot to take a picture of both. Silly me.

They had a little wishing well in the gardens and tons of other really cute decorations.
The flowers were gorgeous! It made me wish we had a garden of our own!
My favorite flower, well second to the sunflower.

The only downside to our trip was someone hit our car. : ( Well we are not sure if it happened while we were at the lodge, but that is where we noticed it.

Our poor car. It is really not that noticeable, but it really bothers Orion. He is pretty protective of his things. For the rest of the day he parked far away from anyone and gave anyone who walked near our car dirty looks. I of course could not help but laugh at his overprotective behavior.

Cambria

Have you ever been to Cambria? If not you should. It is such a lovely little beach town located near highway 1. I am basically in love with it.
Just look at the view on your drive there. I am not sure what happened with this picture, but it is still beautiful.
I want to live here on this hill just to keep this view.
Oh yeah did I tell you that I don't look six month pregnant from the front? Well I don't. But from the side I kind of look pregnant.

He is just so cute, I know I am biased but I can't help myself.
Just after we took this picture a family of deers strolled on by. Is this not a picture perfect place?
I am so in love with how many trees there are here. Where we live we have trees, but nothing like this. It is like a little forest everywhere. Needless to say I did not want to live.

Cookie Monster

You may or may not know that Orion is a Cookie Monster. He just loves cookies so much! Lucky for me I am good at making cookies or else I might have an unhappy husband on my hands.

A couple of weeks ago I went to one of my best friend's from high school bridal shower. It was my first trip all by myself. I stayed at my parents, went to lunch, did some shopping, and just enjoyed some girl time. It was amazing. While at Ashley's bridal shower I won something amazing. A Skookie! Never heard of that before? Neither had I. It is a truly wonderful invention. Have you ever gotten a huge cookie with warm ice cream on the top from a restaurant? Well this lovely little creature makes it possible to make that perfect cookie at home! Needless to say Orion fell a little more in love with me when I brought this home.
I love this little pan. The cookie comes out perfect every time. Believe me we have used this little gift many times since I got it. I wish I knew where you could buy this because it would make a great gift.
